Exotic Highland Fibers for Spinning, Knitting and Crafts

Our Yak fiber and Cashmere are both extremely fine (about 12–14 microns), lightweight, and similar in texture. They come from rare animals—the Changthangi goat (true pashmina cashmere) and the yak (Bos grunniens)—found in high-altitude Himalayan and Tibetan regions, which makes these fibers scarce and expensive luxury materials.

U.S. law defines cashmere as the fine undercoat from cashmere goats, with strict standards: an average fiber diameter of 19 microns or less, and no more than 3% of fibers exceeding 30 microns.
